Since she was a student, Shaffira has shown a passion in research, writing, and translations. Her interests vary from gender issues, comparative literature, and environment to Southeast Asian studies. Apart from being a research assistant in several research projects, Shaffira also actively participated in international conferences, as well as trainings on research, advocacy, and media. In 2013, Shaffira completed trainings in General Indonesian to English translation as well as Basic Legal translation held by the Foreign Language Institution, University of Indonesia. Shaffira is also a junior member of the Association of Indonesian Translators.
Following her BA graduation from the University of Indonesia in 2014, Shaffira joined WRI as a translator and web editor. Upon completing her MA degree at the University of Warwick, UK, she returned to WRI in 2016 as a researcher.***
